Proposal to wedding with Brittany + Brent...

I've been working with Brittany and Brent since August of 2022 when I captured their surprise proposal at Smoke on the Water. Brittany's best friend, Bre reached out to me to organize the proposal to help Brent out and keep the secret on the down low. The proposal went off without a hitch and just like that they were engaged! In September of 2022, I captured their engagement photos. The weather was iffy, the sky was sad, and there was minimal beach to work with and despite that, we still got some dreamy photos. Brittany asked me if I would be her wedding photographer for their upcoming wedding at the end of 2023. She asked if I would and I truly wasn't accepting weddings at the time, but she believed in me and told me to name my price. I worked so hard all of 2023 to build up my experience and take on more second shooting, weddings, and elopements so I would be fully ready for her wedding in November 2023.

Brittany has become a friend over the last year and a half. I've captured her proposal, engagement photos, boudoir session, and now wedding day! She's trusted me through it all and that means more to me than anything! Clients who believe in my art and I are the reason I keep going!

Now to their wedding day... the most beautiful day! They got married at the gorgeous venue in Whiteville, NC - Union Valley Farm and Vineyard. It's the most photogenic venue with beautiful light and airy rooms, buildings, and walls. It was a warm fall day on November 18th, 2023 with a little bit of wind and we had the perfect golden hour.

The day started with some detail and getting ready shots! I am working on capturing genuine and lightly prompted images that are authentic and capture the sweet moments in each day.

Right before Brittany got into her dress she had a letter to read in private from Brent. Myself and the amazing videographer (Brooke Taylor Productions) silently captured the sweetest moments of Brittany fully being in the moment on her wedding day getting emotional about the man she would be marrying. While we were capturing this moment our second shooters were with Brent reading his letter. He needed a moment when he first attempted to read the letter also filled with happiness and emotions. These two are perfect for one another and truly have that genuine love everyone looks for in their life partner.

A moment for the bridal party...

They had a quick and sweet ceremony! Brent got emotional as she walked down the aisle with her dad along with so many other members of the bridal party and their family. You can truly see how much these two are loved by the guest reactions during the whole day.

The bride and groom portraits had the most magical golden hour and we had plenty of time to get a large variety of images for them. You'll just have to see for yourself. North Carolina fall is the best time to get married for sure.

Brittany did a quick hair change before the reception (she is a hair stylist so this is very on-brand for her). There were some precious first dances, speeches, and moments before they got down to partying. Let me tell you.. the Kirks know how to throw a party. I hope you enjoyed all the special details in their day and maybe they will inspire you when planning your own wedding :)
