I had so much fun getting to know Kelsey Howard...


Learning about her story and watching her create from start to finish! One of the the important aspect for Kelsey with new branding images was that they be authentic to her and her day to day life as a full time artist.

We brought this vision to life through lots of in-depth planning leading up to our session day. For weeks, we developed concepts, gathered inspiration, spent time on a planning call, and worked through questionnaires to create the most authentic outcome possible, one that would truly represent and market her business.


Her art is beyond stunning and incredibly eye catching, which helps so much, but she isn’t only selling art. People don’t always buy beautiful things, especially when it comes to art. The art and the artist often mean something deeper to the customer.


I worked with Kelsey to uncover those connection points and show what her day-to-day life actually looks like beyond the beautiful paintings. We wanted to capture not only the beauty of her work, but also the person behind it all. Her story, process, personality, and inspiration that makes her art so meaningful.

She told me that she spends time almost every day painting or creating something. She spends time with her fur babies, in her garden, traveling, and journaling. So, we incorporated all of these elements in some way into her branding photos because they’re such an important part of who she is and why she creates the art that she does.


She didn’t want anything to feel too posed or forced. I lightly guided her through some of the more “posed” photos, but for the most part, I simply told her to paint how she would if I weren't here while we chatted about life.


Photos don’t have to feel like a hassle or a big and scary photoshoot. I was able to address the concerns she’d experienced with past photoshoots, market her business as authentically as possible, and create a fun, low pressure environment where she could simply be herself.


That’s exactly what I want branding sessions to feel like! Intentional, authentic, and true to you and the business you’ve built.
